Review: Days Gone, PS4.

💻 GRAPHICS

Now, Graphics might be somewhat of a controversial subject in Days Gone, cause a lot of people argue for both the good and bad, without being wrong, however i will only argue for the good. The open-world is huge and truly beautiful, they’ve had an impeccable attention to the visual detail in Days Gone: by that I’m talking about everything from rain, falling snowflakes, blood-spattered bats to weapons and the amazing bike visuals. It’s a world that looks real, with a thick layer of history and so much thought behind it, and the game itself is a amazing, beautiful, yet intense and well-crafted experience.

🔊 SOUNDTRACK

The music, is simply to die for. The soundtrack is simply put, amazing. Honestly, I’ve never experienced such an amazing soundtrack in any game with the exeption of Fallout 4 and The Last Of Us. Days Gone just has the most beautiful, intense and truly mind blowing soundtrack. Well done Nathan, well done. I’ll leave a link to the soundtrack way down below, check it out and decide for yourself.

⌨ GAMEPLAY

During the plot you’ll be taking brutal risks for the most insane reasons whilst embarking on side-missions for the local camps. Such as Bounty Hunting, Finding Food, Medicine, Etc. During your adventure the story will take a few turns before the end is reached. The Script does feel somewhat forced at some points, especially during the introduction and the game can be quite repetitive at times. However, the further you get and the longer you play, the more the story grabs ahold of you and you’ll just get so used to the repetitive side-missions that you’ll no longer mind it. Overall, the mechanics are simply astounding. The melee combat, firearms and driving system is remarkable to say the least. I’d without a doubt give the game mechanics 10/10, but thats just my opinion.

👓 STORY/PLOT

Days Gone’s Story revolves around Deacon St. John which is voice acted by none other than Sam Witwer. Behind Deacon’s hard exterior, outsider persona, mc vest and all the tattoos, Deacon St. John is generally a good guy. A war veteran, who has served in Afghanistan. He might’ve done some stupid and illegal things. But he is clearly a genuine, nice dude and he truly loves his wife whole heartedly. Despite the fact that they’ve been separated for two years. After discovering that there is a chance his wife Sarah might still be alive, Deacon embarks on a quest to reunite with her in a post-apocalyptic world where Freakers roam the lands, but has to struggle to keep his beloved ”brother” alive during his quest.

❗ Conclusion

Now, is the game worth buying? Without a doubt, it’s a great game although it can be quite repetitive, the main story and game mechanics carries the entire game by itself, in my opinion atleast. Go buy it and play it for yourself, don’t read into peoples comments about it to much. It’s worth the time as well as the money, you’ve got hours of exploring and side-questing to do.
