Review: DR. Stone, Anime.

✍ ART

Art is absolutely essential in conveying the story and they do it well. The artwork of Dr. Stone is both visually stunning and pleasant to look at. Cause let’s face it, when a story is set 3700 years into the future, on an Earth in which Humanity has not touched or roamed at all, it can become a true challange to visualize and construct that world without the talent, skill and passion of an artist that is genuinely adept and experienced. But, Dr. Stone manages to demonstrate this with beautifully constructed images of vegatation slowly choking human structures and nature claiming back the land that was once manipulated by humanity. Boichi, the manga’s artist, definitely flexes his absolute skill and craft by showcasing the unbelievable.

🔊 INTRO

Dr. Stone’s intro opens with the japanese rock band BURNOUT SYNDROMES with the song ”Good morning world”, which is say the least, a interesting choice. The lyrics is obviously not anything ”special”, but that does truly depend on what you’d expect and how it’s performed. The Japanese band does perform it well and the lyrics fit into the world of DR. Stone. And to be honest, thats all that matters. I don’t think they could’ve done much better. I’ll link the intro down below, you decide if it’s a intro worthy of being called great or not.

✎ STORY/PLOT

The setting of the show is so intriguing that you’ll get sucked right in after just mere seconds. The beloved planet we call home has been petrified, the entire world turned to stone by a mysterious light that suddenly surrounds the entire globe. Not a single person on the planet is left standing. However, the petrification doesn’t mean death. These people are still well and truly alive, but they can’t move, can’t speak, can’t think as they are stuck in the petrification state. Well, there’s one person who’s still maintained his ability to think, rationalize and by his mere determination, he breaks his petrification and truly lives, once again. I’m talking about none other than the protagonist: Senkuu who is finally awake and ready to rebuild the world we once knew.

❗ Conclusion

Now, is the show worth watching? I’d say yes, it is. It’s plot is truly one of a kind, with a lot of thrilling and exciting moments as Senkuu rebuilds civilization in just spare moments compared to it’s original time. There’s also of course, the loveable and my personal favourite characters like Chrome, Ginro and Suika. If you’re a fan of Anime, this is one series you really don’t want to miss out on. I’ll leave a link to the series trailer down below and let you decide.
